Begin your journey into the ancient world of Sheng Pu-erh. This curated tasting set is your personal guide to discovering why tea connoisseurs treasure these 'living teas'—teas that continue evolving with age, revealing new depths with every infusion.

Why This Set Is Your Perfect Introduction to Sheng Pu-erh:

Many beginners feel overwhelmed choosing their first Sheng Pu-Erh. There are hundreds of origins, aging profiles, and price levels – from everyday cakes to rare teas costing several hundred euros per piece. Knowing where to start is not obvious.

This set removes that uncertainty. It brings together five carefully selected Sheng Pu-Erhs that show the full spectrum: from fresh, mountain‑green youth to complex, well‑aged cakes with real depth of character. No guesswork, no expensive mistakes – just a clear, guided tasting experience.

This set features: 5 types of Sheng Pu-erh, 20g each; total 100g; includes teas from 2013–2020:

  1. Sheng Pu-Erh "Chun Shan", 2013, a well-aged Sheng Pu-Erh that is b alanced, with wood, herbs, dried fruit, and a mix of sweetness and bitterness
  2. Sheng Pu-Erh "Gu Shu", 2013, a second well-aged Pu-Erh that is delicate, with dried fruit and tart prune notes
  3. Sheng Pu-Erh "Bang Zhang", 2018, a medium-aged Sheng Pu-Erh that is silky, with notes of honey, dried fruit and a floral touch
  4. Sheng Pu-Erh "Gao Shan", 2020, a young Pu-Erh that is fresh, lively, with a sweet, long-lasting aftertaste
  5. Sheng Pu-erh "Fei Ping", 2020, a second young Sheng Pu-Erh that is sweet, full, fruity, with apple, pear, and light plum notes

Each tea in this set comes from centuries-old tea trees in Yunnan's legendary tea mountains. These aren't plantation teas—they're living artifacts from wild-growing "ancient tree" (Gushu) tea forests.

For over 1,000 years, these trees have weathered monsoons, absorbed mountain minerals, and developed complex root systems that give their leaves unparalleled depth and character. When you steep these teas, you're not just drinking—you're tasting history.

Your 3-Step Sheng Discovery Path:

  • Week 1 – Taste youth
Start with the 2020 Sheng teas. Notice the bright, vegetal character and clear fruit notes. This is the starting point of a Sheng Pu-Erh’s life.

  • Week 2 – Feel transformation
Move to the 2018 tea. Time has softened the edges, introduced more sweetness, and brought out floral nuances. This is aging as you can taste it.

  • Week 3 – Experience maturity
Finish with the 2013 teas. They are smooth, calm and meditative, with wood, herb and dried‑fruit depth. Compare them to Week 1 and you will feel the full arc from young to mature.
