Shou Pu-erh "Sage and Tree", 2009, from Yunnan
Crafted from old tea trees in the Bingdao highlands, this Pu-erh offers a bright cognac infusion, pronounced woody aroma, and a soft, nutty finish. The tea is harvested in spring, dried in the sun, and then fermented. The pressing is dense but not excessive, which makes storage easier. The raw materials are large-leafed, with a moderate amount of tea buds.
