What makes this piece special

Your own cup, grown in the kiln.

In Chinese tea culture, the master cup is the host's personal cup – the one you reach for at every session. Ours carries a crystal glaze that only takes its final form in the kiln. During firing, crystals grow out of the glaze like frost flowers on a window. Their size and pattern cannot be controlled, so no two cups are alike.

Two shapes, two colourways

The rounded cup sits snugly in the hand and holds the aroma well. The blossom-rim cup stands on a small foot and opens like a petal. Both come in soft rose or lavender, each fading into icy blue towards the base.

For which teas?

With 130 ml it is the classic size for Gongfu sessions with Pu-erh, oolong or white tea – and a pleasant everyday cup for a single serving.

Care

We recommend washing by hand with warm water. Avoid sudden temperature changes, e.g. putting the cup on a cold surface straight after pouring boiling water.

Gekauft habe ich die Nadel, weil sie nicht so spitz ist. Bei sehr hart gepressten Kuchen gibt es sonst Verletzungsgefahr. Trotzdem kann man damit gut den Tee aufbrechen. Die Nadel ist sehr schwer.
